The West Michigan Whitecaps snapped a nine game losing streak on Thursday with a 10-3 victory at Dayton.

In the first inning, the Whitecaps took a 2-0 lead when Sam McMillan singled home Wenceel Perez and Reynaldo Rivera brought home McMillan on a sacrifice fly.

Dayton responded in the home half of the inning with two runs of their own, making the score 2-2 after one inning.

In the seventh inning, Avery Tuck hit a solo home run to make the score 3-2 in favor of West Michigan.

In the eighth inning, the Whitecaps scored seven runs when Rivera singled home Ulrich Bojarski, Rivera scored on a Tuck walk, Christopher Proctor singled home Parker Meadows, Perez brought home Zach Malis on a RBI groundout, Tuck scored on a Bojarski walk and Hector Martinez singled home Proctor and McMillan.

Bojarski led the Whitecaps with three hits and one RBI while Tuck finished with two hits and two RBIs.

The Whitecaps are now 21-46 and in last place of the Midwest League Eastern Division standings.

On Friday the Whitecaps will return home to face South Bend with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
