The West Michigan Whitecaps were unable to hold on to a 2-0 lead on Friday night in a 6-2 home loss to Quad Cities.
In the third inning, Sam McMillan singled home Wenceel Perez before scoring himself on an RBI single by Andre Lipcius to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead.
Quad Cities tied the game at 2-2 with two runs in the fifth before scoring two runs in the sixth and two runs in the ninth to ultimately win 6-2.
McMillan and Lipcius each had two hits to lead the Whitecaps offensive attack on Friday night.
With the loss, the Whitecaps fall to 29-61 overall on the season and 8-13 in the second half, six games behind Bowling Green for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.
The Whitecaps will open up a home series with Kane County on Saturday night with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
