The West Michigan Whitecaps snapped a four game losing streak with a 9-5 home victory over Quad Cities on Wednesday night.

Dayton Dugas gave the Whitecaps a 4-0 advantage in the first inning when he hit a gran slam over the left field wall.

In the second inning, Andre Lipcius doubled home Zach Malis to extend the Whitecaps lead to 5-0.

Quad Cities scored one run in the third inning and four runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-5.

In the sixth inning, Dugas doubled home Nick Quintana to give the Whitecaps a 6-5 lead.

Later in the inning, Dugas, Parker Meadows and Wenceel Perez all scored on fielders choice plays to give the Whitecaps a 9-5 lead.

Dugas, Perez and Ulrich Bojarski all had two hits to lead the Whitecaps offense in the victory.

With the win, West Michigan is now 29-59 overall on the season and 8-11 in the second half, six games behind Bowling Green for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

The Whitecaps will continue their series with Quad Cities on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
