The Fremont soccer team scored all of its goals in the first half in a 3-1 non-conference victory over Shelby on Thursday.

Kasidy Wright scored two goals, both coming off assists from Jazz Miller. The third goal came off a corner kick from Grant Vissia that was headed in by Briaden McDonald.

Shelby’s Logan Claeyes put the Tigers on the board with a goal midway through the first half, but it wasn’t enough as the Packers held on to win.

Joe Kortege has 5 saves in goal for the Packers while Ben Kelley had 14 saves for the Tigers.

The Packers improve to 1-1, with the Tigers falling to 1-4 on the year.

SPRING LAKE 11, COOPERSVILLE 0 – The Lakers were able to mercy the Broncos in an early season game on Thursday night.

Malachi Mulder and Ben Bush each tallied three-goal hat tricks for the Lakers while Julian White added two goals of his own.

Caden Ruter, Clayton Glasgow and Alex Benedict all added single goals for Spring Lake. Aiden Parker and Eric Norton both served time in goal en route to the shutout.

KENT CITY 5, LAKEVIEW 0 – Abel Diaz put up a hat trick for the Eagles. Collin Ouwinga and Jesus Hernandez each chipped in single goals.

WEDNESDAY

SHELBY 4, REED CITY 2 – The Tigers collected two goals from both Diego Gonzales and Layton Jennings in the first half to gain the margin of victory. Henry Kidder and Joseph Hayes also played key roles for the Packers, who outshot the Coyotes 15-6.
