Ready to grab a copy of your 2019 high school football preview section, with the first games only four days away?

Do you like door prize drawings? How about $1 hamburgers and hot dogs?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you should join us at the Local Sports Journal’s 2019 High School Football Kickoff Party on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Bella Maria’s, the very nice restaurant at Oak Ridge Golf Club, 513 W. Pontaluna in Norton Shores.

The first copies of our annual football preview have rolled off the presses and will be available, free of charge, at the party.

The full-color, 40-page preview includes a full page on all 22 area varsity teams, as well as feature stories on Muskegon quarterback Cameron Martinez, Mona Shores quarterback Caden Broersma, Oakridge Coach Cary Harger, Montague Coach Pat Collins, last year’s area teams that made the state finals at Ford Field, and other fun topics.

Everybody attending the party will receive a free ticket when they enter, which automatically qualifies them for drawings for a bunch of cool door prizes.

The prizes include gift certificates for many restaurants, including Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, Arby’s, Jimmy John’s, Burger King, Olive Garden, Bob Evans, Red Lobster, Wendy’s, Red Robin, Taco Bell, Domino’s Pizza, Brann’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and Booyahs Bar and Grill.

Door prizes include free passes to the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex, a free furnace tune-up from AireServ Heating and Air Conditioning, and Muskegon Big Reds, Reeths-Puffer Rockets and Mona Shores football tickets.

High school football is a very big deal in the Muskegon area, largely because we produce some of the very best teams in the state every year. So come out on Monday night, help us kick off the 2019 season, and get your football preview section, an inexpensive meal and your chance to win a cool door prize!

See you there!
