The Fruitport Calvary Christian soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with an impressive 5-1 victory over Montague on Friday.

Montague got on the board first with a goal by Brendan Mahoney, but Calvary overtook the Wildcats with three goals in the first half and two in the second.

Ben Zelenka and Tyler Brown each scored twice for the Eagles while Sam Zelenka added a single tally. Jose Wetzig was the winning goalie, stopping six Montague shots.

NORTH MUSKEGON 4, SAGINAW VALLEY LUTHERAN 0 – Hudson Richards scored twice for the Norse while Brody Hoffman and Dyland Shultz each had a goal and an assist.

North Muskegon goalkeeper Rielly Schotts got the shutout with five saves. North Muskegon is now 2-1-1 on the season.

OAKRIDGE 1, SPARTA 1 – Oakridge led 1-0 at halftime after collecting a goal from Dylan Lucas. Sparta tied the score on a penalty kick in the second half.

Sparta outshot the Eaglues 15-5, but Oakridge goalie Spencer Anderson was outstanding, turning away all but one attempt. Oakridge is now 0-1-1 on the season.
