Mason County Central finishes third in its volleyball invitational, Fremont takes second place

The Mason County Central volleyball squad finished in third place in its invitational, posting a 2-1-2 record.

The Spartans defeated Benzie Central and Holton, lost to Ludington and tied with Shelby and Fremont.

Hailey Jackson paced Mason County Central with 30 kills while Nyah Tron added 16.

Tron also had seven aces and seven blocks for the Spartans and Jenna Smith chipped in with 50 assists.

Mason County Central is now 6-2-6 on the season overall.

Fremont finished in second place and was led offensively by Rhi Pafford and Carle Bruggema with 25 and 21 kills, respectively.

Kennedy Christoffersen led the Packers defense with 39 digs while Calla Miller had nine aces.
