Mona Shores uses a single goal and great defense to sneak past Zeeland West

The Mona Shores soccer team used strong defense and goalkeeping to gain a tough 1-0 victory over Zeeland West on Friday.

Camden Deruiter scored the only goal for the Sailors, with an assist from Hayden Yaros. Keegan DeKuiper earned the shutout in goal, with help from defenders like Jordan DeKuipter, Tyler Leenhouts and Brendan McNarland.

The Sailors are now 2-1 on the season.
