Tennis roundup: Fruitport, Mona Shores and Spring Lake have successful starts

The Fruitport tennis team went 1-1 on Tuesday with a 7-0 loss to Cedar Springs and a 4-2 victory over Sparta.

Picking up victories for the Trojans were Jordan Hennings (No.2 singles), Hayden Winskas (No.3 singles) and the doubles teams of Brady Weck and Zander Beatty (No.1 doubles) and Dakota Adkins and Cole Froy (No.3 doubles).

MONA SHORES WINS 3 – The Mona Shores tennis team went 3-0 on Monday in Hamilton, defeating Middleville Thornapple Kellog 8-0, Hamilton 5-3 and West Catholic 5-3.

Undefeated players for the Sailors were Grant Hylland, Chris Horvath, Gaving Kuhn, Max Spagnuolo, Brady Whalen, Lydia Sowles and Bobby Wasserman.

SPRING LAKE GOES 2-0 – Spring Lake defeated Big Rapids 5-3 and Greenville 4-1 on Monday night.

Winning Lakers were Joshua Duer (No.1 singles), Callum Saxe (No.2 singles), August Druzgal (No.4 singles) AJ Dalman and Dawson Sherman (No.1 doubles), Alex Matthew and Jackson Der Vartanian (No.2 doubles), Grant Kieft and Sean Bennink (No.3 doubles) and the team of Kyle Powers and Mason De Vries (No.4 doubles).
