The West Michigan Whitecaps went 1-2 in their three game home series versus division leading Bowling Green.

On Wednesday, the Whitecaps knocked off Bowling Green 3-1 before losing 9-6 on Thursday and 5-3 on Friday.

In the victory on Wednesday, Daniel Reyes led the Whitecaps offense with two hits and a RBI while Cooper Johnson hit a solo home run.

Pitcher Robbie Welhal picked up the win, throwing six innings in relief and allowing only three hits and striking out five.

On Thursday, Detroit Tigers 2019 first round pick Riley Greene made his Whitecaps debut, picking up two this including an inside the park home run.

Dayton Dugas, Bryant Packard, and Wenceel Perez all added two hits for the Whitecaps in the loss.

On Friday, Parker Meadows and John Valente each had two hits and one RBI for West Michigan in the loss.

The Whitecaps are now 37-79 overall on the season and 16-31 in the second half, 13 games behind Great Lakes for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

The Whitecaps will travel to Lake County on Saturday for a three-game series beginning with a 7 p.m. first pitch.
