The Grand Haven football team traveled to Grandville on Friday night and were competitive for the first half in a 27-7 O-K Red Conference loss.

After falling behind 14-0, Grand Haven cut the deficit to 14-7 in the second quarter when Braydon Franz caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Alex Kapala.

Grandville then scored once in the third quarter to make the score 20-7 and once in the fourth quarter to make the final 27-7.

The Grand Haven offense was held to 83 total yards on the night.

Kapala finished with 73 passing yards and one touchdown while Franz had 66 yards receiving on two catches.

The Buccaneers are now 1-3 overall on the season and 0-2 in conference play. They’ll travel to Rockford next Friday for another OK-Red Conference game.
