Riley Calhoun accounted for all six Ludington touchdowns as the Orioles topped Manistee at home Friday night 45-14 in a Lakes 8 game.

Calhoun did it with his legs and arm in the first quarter with a six-yard touchdown run and a 52-yard completion to Skylar Gerber to give the Orioles an early 14-0 lead.

After Drew Arce’s field goal with four minutes left in the second quarter to put the Orioles up 17-0, the Chippewas were able to respond with under two minutes left to cut into their deficit at 17-7.

On the very next play from scrimmage, Calhoun found Arce for an 81-yard touchdown, giving the Orioles a 24-7 edge at halftime.

Calhoun and Arce connected for a second time at the start of the third quarter for a 19-yard pass, putting the Orioles up 31-7.

Later in the third quarter, Calhoun got loose once again, this time for a 56-yard run for a touchdown.

Manistee responded quickly after to cut its deficit to 38-14 heading into the fourth frame.

Calhoun finished his night off with a seven-yard touchdown run to seal the win for the Orioles.

Along with his six touchdowns, Calhoun tallied 243 yard through the air and 189 yards on the ground. Arce led the Orioles in receiving with five catches for 154 yards and two scores.

Jake Plamondon anchored the Oriole defense with 11 tackles while Levi Laman and Nikolai Keher chipped in with eight and six tackles, respectively.

The Orioles improved to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in Lakes 8 play.
