The Orchard View football team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 28-6 victory on the road over Kent City on Friday night.

The Cardinals took control in the first half, scoring one touchdown in the first quarter and two in the second to grab a 22-0 lead by halftime. OV added one touchdown in the third quarter while Kent City got on the board in the fourth.

Edmari Mitchell scored two rushing touchdowns of 12 and 8 yards while Alex Andrews scored from 4 yards out. Darius Williams returned an interception 44 yards for the other Cardinal touchdown.

Mason Westbrook found the end zone for Kent City, which fell to 1-1 on the season.

Brendan Hyatt had 20 rushes for 102 yards for Orchard View. Mitchell carried the ball 14 times for 93 yards while Brendan Nelson ran 10 times for 66 yards. The Cardinals piled up 326 yards on the ground.

Max Hudson led Kent City with 46 yards on the ground.

Orchard View will kick off Lakes 8 Conference play next week with a game at Muskegon Catholic.
