Muskegon Catholic Central got back to their winning ways Friday night, snapping a two-game losing skid with a 34-21 win over Ludington in a Lakes 8 Activities Conference battle.

The game got off to a slow start, with both teams going scoreless in the first quarter.

Carson St. Amour got the scoring started for the Crusaders in the second quarter with a 31-yard touchdown. St. Amour followed with a 17-yard receiving score from Max Price to put MCC up 13-0.

St. Amour rushed in from 11 yards out for his third touchdown of the game right before the half to give the Crusaders a 20-0 lead at the break.

A four-yard run from Solomon Waller gave the Crusaders a 27-0 lead early in the third.

Riley Calhoun connected with Jake Plamondon on an 18-yard strike you get the Orioles on the board and make the score 27-7.

A 51-yard pass from Calhoun to Drew Arce right before the quarter ended got the Orioles within 27-14 heading into the fourth.

St. Amour put the game out of reach with an 11-yard run that gave the Crusaders a 34-14 lead.

Calhoun connected with Plamondon on a 52-yard touchdown pass to pull within 34-21, but it proved not to be enough as the Crusaders came away with a win.

St. Amour led the Crusaders on the ground with with 101 yards and three touchdowns while also leading the team in receiving with three catches for 59 yards and a score.

Price was efficient behind center, completing 9-14 passes for 122 yards to go along with a touchdown and interception.

Calhoun finished with 182 yards passing and three touchdowns. Plamondon finished with three grabs for 124 yards.

The Crusaders move to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in Lakes 8 play. The Orioles fall to 3-1 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
