Fruitport volleyball team posts a 1-1 record, defeats Muskegon and falls to Jenison

The Fruitport volleyball squad posted a 1-1 record on Tuesday night in a tri-match.

The Trojans fell to Jenison by scores of 11-25, 14-25 and 14-25 in their first match, then defeated Muskegon by scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-13.

Ellie Fisher led Fruitport with 15 kills while Sydney Bol and Brooke Sieplinga recorded six apiece. Jenna VanderVelde chipped in with 28 assists and Jessie Paquin finished with 18.

Leading the Trojan defense was Kennadi Dykstra with 24 digs.

Fruitport is now 9-20-2 overall and 5-2 in the O-K Black Conference.
