The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team took home the Lakes 8 tournament championship on Saturday, defeating Muskegon Catholic and Ludington.

Claudia Kingma led the Warriors with four aces while Chloe Mitchell had 82 assists and 10 kills. Kyla Wiersema added 22 kills and ive blocks.

Alisha Leffring had six blocks and 38 digs for Western Michigan Christian.

With the victories, the Warriors improve to 31-10-3 on the season.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC WINS ONE, DROPS TWO – The Muskegon Catholic volleyball team defeated Manistee but fell to Western Michigan Christian and Orchard View in the Lakes 8 tournament.

Calvin’Nae Simmons led the Crusaders with 25 kills while Erin LaVigne had 12 kills and 27 digs. Claire LaVigne had 61 assists while Caitlyn Fodrocy had 56 digs.

The Crusaders are now 14-19 overall on the season.

LUDINGTON TAKES SECOND IN LAKES 8 – The Ludington volleyball team defeate Orchard View on Saturay before falling to Western Michigan Christian.

De’Lahna Porter led the Orioles with 35 kills, 14 blocks and one ace while Elena Vaara added 23 kills, eight blocks and three aces.

Keelyn Laird had 15 blocks, three kills and one assist while Karlee Plamondon added 38 assits and two aces. Veronique Chapman added 26 assists and two aces.
