The Ludington boys soccer team needed extra time to beat Big Rapids in the Division 3 district semifinals on Monday night. The Orioles topped Big Rapids 2-0 in overtime.

The win advances Ludington to Wednesday’s district final at Manistee High School where it will face Shelby who reached the finals with a 3-1 win over Manistee.

Ludington got on the board in overtime with a goal from Nick Patterson. Evan Shay followed up with a security goal as Noah King posted assists on both plays for the Orioles.

Kyle Wendt posted the shutout in goal, making three saves for Ludington.

The Orioles outshot Big Rapids 31-3 and are now 10-9-3 this season.
