The Muskegon Lumberjacks winning streak was extended to six games after defeating the Sioux Falls Stampede 6-1 on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks are now 6-4 on the season, good for 12 points and a fourth place tie in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

Muskegon will return home next weekend starting with a Friday night matchup against Waterloo. Faceoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. at the L.C. Walker Arena.

The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period with goals from Oliver MacDonald (6:54), Danil Gushchin (10:42), Tanner Edwards (13:56) and Luke Mobley (15:56).

The Stampede responded with a goal 59 seconds into the second period on a goal from Tyler Coffey.

Muskegon bounced back with a goal of its own from Jack Williams 4:15 into the second period.

The Lumberjacks closed out the scoring 19:45 into the third period on a goal from Harrison Roy.

Muskegon goalkeeper Jack Williams earns the win in net, stopping 26-of-27 shots. The Lumberjacks outshot Sioux Falls by a 30-27 margin.
