The Ravenna football team kept rolling with a 47-2 win over Hart on Friday night, the sixth straight win for the Bulldogs.

With the win the Bulldogs move to 6-1 overall, clinching a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. At 6-0 in the West Michigan Conference, Ravenna will look to lock up a conference championship next week against Oakridge.

The Bulldogs started the scoring when quarterback Connor Kilbourne connected with Thomas McCullogah for a 12-yard touchdown.

Hart got its lone points by taking Kilbourne down in his own end zone, pulling within 6-2.

It was all Bulldogs from there, as Kilbourne ran for touchdowns of 12, 6 and 22 yards before halftime to put Ravenna up 24-2 at the break.

The Bulldogs continued to pull away in the second half, with a blocked punt return for a touchdown by Jack Emery, a scoring pass from McCullogah to Emery and a touchdown run from Kyler Nicholas.

Ravenna’s offense dominated with 395 yards, while their defense was impressive, holding the Pirate offense to only 13 total yards.

Kilbourne had 40 yards passing, rushed for 49 yards and totaled four touchdowns. Dalton Hogan was the Bulldogs’ leading rusher with 161 yards rushing on 15 carries, averaging over 10 yards per carry.

On defense for Ravenna, Nick Ely led the way with nine tackles and one sack. Chase Shelley had 4 solo tackles including two tackles for loss and one sack. Dom Mabrito and Calvin Schullo both contributed with two tackles for loss.

Despite being quiet offensively, Hart’s Leo McCulley put on a solid defensive showing with 12 total tackles. Leo Guadarrama had an interception.

Ravenna improves to 6-1 overall and an undefeated 6-0 in conference. Hart falls to 1-6 overall and 0-6 in conference with the defeat.
