The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team took home the Bronson Invitational on Saturday by going 5-0.

The Warriors defeated Sturgis, Niles, Onsted, Edwardsburg and Bronson.

Alisha Leffring paced Western Michigan Christian with nine aces, 32 kills and 41 digs while Taylor Folkema added 29 kills and 45 digs.

Meghan Heiss had 45 digs and Chloe Mitchell added four aces, 11 blocks, and 154 assists.

The Warriors are now 26-9-3 overall.

SPRING LAKE GOES 1-5 – The Spring Lake volleyball team defeated Northview on Saturday but fell to Traverse City Central, Grandville, Forest Hills Central, Gull Lake and Hudsonville in the Hudsonville Invitational.

Abbi Perkins led the Lakers with 40 kills, 17 blocks and five aces while Alicia Mumby had 29 kills, 25 digs and eight blocks.

Kendra Keift had 33 digs and Meah Bajt added 30 digs while Kyla Kobylak had 98 assists.

Spring Lake is now 10-25 on the season and remains 2-2 in conference play.

MONTAGUE HAS SOLID DAY BEFORE FALLING IN SEMIS – The Montague volleyball team went 4-0 on Saturday before falling to Hesperia in the Shelby tournament semifinals.

Montague defeated Ludington, Hart, Holton and Pine River before the loss to Hesperia.

Reilly Murphy led the Wildcats with 62 kills and 53 digs while Raegan Murphy added 138 assists and eight aces.

Ally Hall had 20 digs, 12 blocks and 40 kills for Montague.

Montague is now 30-9 overall on the season.

SHELBY GOES 2-2-1 AT HOME – The Shelby volleyball team went 2-2-1 on Saturday in their home invitational, defeating Holton and Pentwater, losing to Ludington and Onekama but tying Montague.

Finley Kistler had 10 aces, 29 assists and 10 digs to lead Shelby while Nicole Rockwell added seven aces and 47 digs.

Cassidy Copenhaver had 14 kill, 30 digs and five aces for the Tigers while teammate Autumn Sharrow added 18 kills, eight digs and seven blocks.

MONA SHORES TAKES SECOND – The Mona Shores volleyball team took second in the silver bracket of the East Grand Rapids tournament.

Mona Shores defeated Coldwater, but lost to East Grand Rapids, Kenowa Hills, Rockford and Forest Hills Eastern.

Grace Norris had 49 assists for Mona Shores and Megan DeLong added 30 assists.

Brooke LeRoux led with 19 kills while Riley Rosenthal added 18 and Bri Wade added 17.

Mona Shores is now 13-15-2 overall on the season.

HESPERIA TAKES GOLD DIVISON – The Hesperia volleyball team took home the gold division title at the Shelby tournament on Saturday, defeating Montague in the semifinals and North Muskegon in the finals.

Emily Bayle led the Panthers with 38 kills, 11 aces, and 29 digs while Brooke Billings and Rachel Romero each ahd 10 aces.

Romero also had 22 kills for Hesperia while Kyra Sayer added 42 assists.

The Panthers are now 25-8-1 on the season.
