Wednesday volleyball roundup: Mona Shores and Holton falls short in late season matches

The Mona Shores volleyball squad dropped a tough five-set match to Fruitport on Wednesday night by scores of 20-25, 25-27, 29-27, 25-18 and 13-15.

Grace Norris led the Sailors with 25 assists while Megan DeLong had 10.

Suriya VanderOord had 20 digs to lead the Mona Shores defense while Meghan Adams had 13. Brooke LeRoux had 19 kills and twos blocks and Lauren Dunn had nine blocks.

KENT CITY 3, HOLTON 0 – The Red Devils were led in a losing effort by Ally Seiber with nine kills, Kennedy Greene with 21 digs and Paige Byrnes with 14 assists.

Holton is now 6-25 on the season and 2-8 in league play.
