The Montague volleyball team went 3-0 on Saturday and took home the West Michigan Conference championship.

On Saturday, the Wildcats defeated Whitehall, Oakridge and Mason County Central.

Reilly Murphy led Montague with 33 kills and 21 digs while Ally Hall finished with 20 kills and 10 blocks.

Maddy Wynn had 29 digs and six aces to lead in each category for Montague.

Montague finishes conference play with a 10-0 record and improves to 39-12-1 overall.

WHITEHALL FINISHES CONFERENCE PLAY WITH 9-2 RECORD –The Whitehall volleyball team defeated Hart and North Muskegon before falling to Montague in the West Michigan Conference final match.

With the loss to Montague, Whitehall solidified a 9-2 conference record and a second place finish in the conference.

Rayne Thompson had 43 kills and 21 digs to lead the Vikings while Charlie Baker had 25 digs. Maggie Evans finished with 27 assists and four aces.

OAKRIDGE TAKES THIRD – The Oakridge volleyball team defeated Shelby, Ravenna and North Muskegon but fell to Montague on Saturday.

With the conference tournament finish, the Eagles took third place in the West Michigan Conference and are now 32-18-1 overall.

Hayden Ruel had 54 assists on the day while Emma Blackburn and Riann Fri each had 17 kills. Fri also had 4 digs and Alivia Harger had 11 blocks.
