The Grand Haven football team won its first football playoff game since 2009, defeating Grandville 28-7 on Friday in Division 1 pre-districts.

The Buccaneers lost to Grandville 27-7 in Week 4 of the season.

Grand Haven led 7-0 after the first quarter, 14-0 at halftime and 21-7 through three quarters.

Connor Worthington scored two touchdowns from the ground and one on a pass to Wyatt Tucker, while Alex Kapala scored on a quarterback sneak.

The Buccaneers advance to the Division 1 district finals where they will play the winner of Hudsonville and Traverse City West next weekend.
