The Grand Haven football team played very well toward the end of the season, and posted an exciting playoff victory over Grandville last week, but the Buccaneers’ run ended on Friday with a 35-7 loss to Hudsonville in a Division 1 district final contest.

Hudsonville’s Ike Irish scored a touchdown in the first quarter, then threw for one and ran for another in the second quarter, giving his team a 21-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Trevor McEachern busted loose for a 37-yard touchdown run, giving Hudsonville a 28-0 advantage after three quarters.

The final Hudsonville score came on an 11-yard pass from Irish to Brayden Vredeveld, making the score 35-0.

Grand Haven scored the final points of the night on a 59-yard touchdown pass from Alex Kapala to Braydon Franz.

Grand Haven was limited to 140 yards on 39 plays, with Kapala passing for 75 yards and one touchdown. Connor Worthington rushed for 55 yards on seven carries.

Grand Haven wraps up the season with a 6-4 record.
