The Whitehall volleyball team defeated Spring Lake in a close opening round Division 2 district match, notching the win through five sets with scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, and 15-9. 
Riley Mott led the Vikings with 23 kills while Charlie Baker followed with 21. Rayne Thompson finished with 20 kills and 10 digs while Maggie Evans had a team-high 24 assists.
Leading the Laker offense was Abbi Perkins with 18 kills. Alicia Mumby and Madalyn Lisman finished with 10 and eight kills respectively. Kendra Keift led the defense with 21 digs while Perkins had eight blocks.
The Vikings face off against Orchard View Wednesday in District semifinal action.
