A closing 10-0 run pushed the Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team to a 52-43 come-from-behind win over Grand Haven in non-conference action on Friday night.

Grand Haven led for most of the game, leading 18-8 after one quarter, 25-22 at halftime and 37-33 after three quarters.

The Bucs were still up 43-42 with three minutes left when Reeths-Puffer’s Trina Lewis hit back-to-back triples and took a 48-43 lead. Then the Rockets hit five three throws in the final minutes – including four from Lauren Ross – to seal the victory.

Ross led Puffer with 24 points and Lewis added 12. Molly Long was the Bucs’ leading scorer with 15 points and Caydee Constant chipped in with 11.

Reeths-Puffer is now 4-0 on the season. Grand Haven fell to 2-1.

LAKES 8

LUDINGTON 68, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 18 – The Orioles led 20-3 after one quarter, 37-12 at the break, and took a 50-16 lead into the fourth quarter.

Bre Mesyar led the Orioles with 12 points while Abi Bandstra chipped in with nine.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 56, ORCHARD VIEW 15 – The Warriors led 21-6 after one quarter, 38-14 at halftime, and 48-23 at the end of three.

Taylor Folkema and Kyla Wiersema paced the Warriors with 18 points apiece with Greta VanderHeide chipping in 12. Wiersma also led the Warriors with nine rebounds while Folkema added eight steals.

WMC improved to 2-2 overall  and 1-0 in conference play.

CSAA

FREMONT 55, REED CITY 40 – A 22 point second quarter surge by the Packers gave the team a comfortable 33-13 lead going into the half.

Paige Vandenberg paced the Packers with 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Haley Zerlaut finished with 10 points while Calla Miller and Natalie Jamieson followed with nine and eight points,  respectively.

Fremont improved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

KENT CITY 43, WHITE CLOUD 26 – The Eagles trailed by three points after the first quarter, and only led 16-15 at halftime, then exploded in the third quarter where they outscored their opponents 16-2.

Taryn Preston led Kent City with a game-high 12 points, while Lexie Bowers followed with 11. White Cloud was led by Carsyn Scarlavai with nine points.

Kent City improved to 4-0 on the season.

WEST MICHIGAN D

BRETHREN 38, PENTWATER 27 – The game was tied 15-15 at halftime, but Pentwater was outscored 13-4 in the fourth quarter and lost the conference battle.
Jhordan Miller-Rowe led the Falcons with 14 points and five rebounds. Mikaylyn Kenney finished with six points and recorded five boards.

Pentwater fell to 0-3 overall and to 0-2 in conference play.
