The Mona Shores girls basketball team doubled up Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills 50-25 on Friday in an O-K Black Conference game.

Despite being tied 9-9 after one quarter, the Sailors carried a 24-14 lead into halftime.

The Sailors outscored Kenowa Hills 13-8 in the third frame.

Olivia Sobczak led the Sailors with 14 points. Riley Rosenthal followed with 13 while Brooklyn McLemore added six.

Mona Shores improved to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.

KENT CITY 62, HESPERIA 17 – The Eagles remained unbeaten in league play, jumping out to a 39-10 lead at halftime, then added 23 second half points as a team.

Kenzie Bowers led the Eagles with a game-high 17 points, while Jenna Harrison added 11 and Mikayla Loew had 10.

Hesperia was led Emily Bayle with 10 points.

Kent City improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play while the Panthers dropped to 3-6 on the season and 2-2 in league action.

FREMONT 62, GRANT 29 – The Packers sit atop the conference undefeated following another win Friday night.

Fremont jumped out to 18-5 lead in the first quarter and extended the advantage by another point in the second, leading 28-14 at halftime.

The Packers’ defense was apparent in the second half, outscoring Grant 21-7 in the third and 13-8 in the fourth stanza.

Calla Miller led Fremont with 17 points and seven steals while Paige Vandenberg also played a big part with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Grant was led by Sara Arends and Kassidy Doombos, who each had seven points.

The Packers are now 6-3 overall and 5-0 in conference, while Grant dropped to 3-7 on the season and 3-2 in league play.

O-K BLUE CONFERENCE

COMSTOCK PARK 55, SPRING LAKE 39- The Lakers got off to a hot start with a 10-4 run in the first quarter, but the Panthers responded with a 23-6 second quarter tear to take a 27-16 lead into the halftime break.

The Lakers were led by Jennifer Judge with 14 points while Abbi Perkins added six points and eight rebounds. Phoebe Saunders also chipped in with five points and six rebounds.

The Lakers fell to 2-1 in O-K Blue conference play and 3-5 overall on the season.

ALLIANCE

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 59, TRI-UNITY CHRISTIAN 45– The Eagles won their 52nd straight conference game tonight, pulling away during the third quarter.

Fruitport Calvary had a 45-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Kelsey Richards paced the Eagles with 24 points and eight rebounds. Lizzie Cammenga scored 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Cate Anhalt chipped in with nine points, nine steals and nine assists.

The Eagles improved the Alliance Conference record to 2-0, and 8-2 overall on the season.

MICHIGAN D CONFERENCE

MESICK 26, PENTWATER 23 – The Falcons were unable to gain the advantage down the stretch. They trailed 6-3 after the first quarter and went into the locker room at the halftime down 17-12.

Pentwater tied the score at 20-20 at the end of the third frame but were outscored 6-3 during the fourth.

Mikaylyn Kenney led the Falcons with nine points while Terra Cluchey followed with six. Makaylah Cornelisse pulled down 10 rebounds for Pentwater.

The Falcons fell to 2-8 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
