The Ludington girls basketball team held on to its lead and defeated Mona Shores 42-37 on Saturday in a non-conference battle.

The game was tied 8-8 after the opening quarter before the Orioles went on a 13-5 second quarter scoring run to take a 21-13 halftime lead.

Ludington increased its advantage with a 16-10 third quarter run and led 37-23 heading into the final stanza.

The Sailors bounced back in the fourth quarter with a 14-5 run but couldn’t manage to complete a comeback.

The Orioles were led by De’Lahna Porter with 12 points while Bre Mesyar added 10.

Mona Shores was paced by Olivia Sobczak with nine points while Bri Wade chipped in with seven.
