The Muskegon girls basketball team needed two overtime period to beat Kent City 60-57 on Tuesday in a non-league game.

The Big Reds trailed 7-5 in the first quarter and 20-19 at halftime. Muskegon then outscored the Eagles 13-8 during the third quarter, but Kent City came back to force overtime.

Each team scored five points during the overtime period, forcing a second extra stanza.

Kalyn Nash paced the Big Reds with 18 points. DeShanna Day followed with 12 points while Jakayla Anderson recorded 11.

Kenzie Bowers led the Eagles with 26 points. Jenna Harrison added 18 points while Mikayla Loew added six points.

The Big Reds improved to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Kent City is now 7-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
