The Shelby boys basketball team lost a close 43-40 contest to Manistee on Saturday in non-league competition.
The Tigers trailed 8-7 after the first quarter before going on a 13-8 second quarter run to take a 20-16 advantage.
Manistee countered with a 12-6 third quarter run to take a slim 28-26 advantage heading into the final stanza before closing outscoring Shelby 15-14 during the fourth quarter.
The Tigers were led by Logan Claeys with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Zach Munoz added eight points. Joseph Hayes chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.
