Jeffery Carrier scored 29 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Mason County Central boys basketball team to a 63-43 win over Shelby in a West Michigan Conference game on Thursday.

The Spartans led 25-10 after the first quarter, 40-20 at halftime and 55-24 through three quarters.
Will Chye added 14 points and three assists for Mason County Central.

The Tigers were led by Gage Landis with 16 points and Logan Claeys with 13.

The Spartans improved to 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in league play, while Shelby is now 1-6 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

NORTH MUSKEGON 76, MONTAGUE 37- The Norse jumped out to a 23-6 lead after the first quarter, led 40-16 at halftime and 57-26 through three quarters.

Trevor Schults paced North Muskegon with 16 points and five rebounds. Eric Rypstra added 12 points while Brennen McManus had eight points, four steals and four assists.

John Hayhurst contributed with seven points and eight rebounds for the Norse.

The Wildcats were led by Asher Erickson and Logan Metcalf with eight points apiece.

The Norse improved to 4-3 on the season and 3-2 in league play, while Montague fell to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in conference competition.

WHITEHALL 61, HART 29- Dayton Cole’s 18-point and 10-rebound performance propelled the Vikings to a league win on Thursday.

Whitehall led 16-10 after the opening quarter, 26-12 at halftime and 51-19 after three quarters.

Red Watson added 14 points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Vikings, while Caleb Koch chipped in with 11 points.

Whitehall outrebounded the Pirates as a team by a 42-26 margin and had 13 offensive rebounds.

The Pirates were led by Ian Mesler and Fino Hernandez with six points each.
