The Grand Haven boys basketball team reached the double-digit mark in victories with an exciting 59-58 victory over Rockford on Friday in O-K Red Conference action.

Drew Sinke tossed in 21 points for Grand Haven while Owen Worthington added 14.

The Bucs are now 10-6 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

CSAA

MORLEY STANWOOD 59, KENT CITY 51 –  Morley-Stanwood moved into a tie with Kent City at the top of the CSAA Gold standings by beating the Eagles.

Both teams are 7-1 in conference play. Morley Stanwood is 14-2 overall while Kent City is 9-6.

Kent City jumped out to a quick 14-8 lead after the first quarter. Morley Stanwood had the edge in the second quarter, and the Eagles clung to a slight 26-24 lead at the half.

Kent City struggled in the third frame, getting outscored 17-10, the Morley Stanwood put the game away in the fourth quarter.

Will Wright led the Eagles with 19 points. Shawn Anderson added 14 points while Eli Carlson contributed 12. 

HOLTON 65, WHITE CLOUD 49 – The Red Devils fell behind in the first quarter 17-14, but used a 19-7 run in the second to take a 33-24 lead into halftime.

Holton came out hot in the third quarter, doubling up the Indians 18-9 to take a 51-33 lead into the fourth.

Aidan Poling paced the Red Devils with 23 points. Nathan Slowik pitched in with 12, while both Drew Trygstad and Wyatt Monette both added nine points. 

The Red Devils improved to 5-3 in conference play and 10-6 overall.

CENTRAL MONTCALM 65, FREMONT 59 – Fremont trailed by five points at halftime and was unable to close the gap down the stretch.

The Packers had a bad night from 3-point range, hitting only 7 of 35 attempts, and shot only 32 percent overall from the floor.

Tristan Campbell paced the Packers with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Brandon McDonald and Chris Kennedy added 12 points apiece. 

Fremont fell 12-4 overall and are now tied with Central Montcalm and Grant for first place in the CSAA Gold Division at 8-2.

O-K BLUE

SPRING LAKE 62, COMSTOCK PARK 49 – The Lakers held a 23-19 advantage after the first quarter, before going on an 11-1 run
in the second and leading 34-20 at halftime.

Spring Lake was outscored 18-15 in the third frame, but held on for the win in the fourth.

Lucas Lyyski led the Lakers with 13 points. Cayden Ball added 12 while Caden Ruter and Sam Sheridan added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Lakers improved to 8-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

LAKES 8

LUDINGTON 57, MANISTEE 33 – The Orioles jumped out to a 28-11 halftime lead to take total control of the conference matchup.

Peyton LaCombe paced the Orioles with 22 points while Ty Wincheski chipped in with eight.

Ludington improved to 10-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

WEST MICHIGAN D 

PENTWATER 49, BEAR LAKE 41-The Falcons rallied without two key players to pull out a conference win.

After being tied at the end of each of the first three quarters, Pentwater pulled away in the fourth. 

The Falcons were led by Blake Brigindahl with 16 points and six rebounds. Gannon McDonough chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. 

Pentwater improved to 12-2 overall and 11-1 in the conference.
