The Muskegon Community women’s basketball team won its 20th game of the season, defeating Lake Michigan College 67-57 on Friday night.

The Jayhawks trailed 22-20 at the end of the first quarter, then outscored the Redhawks 12-8 during the second quarter, leading to a 32-30 halftime advantage.

Both teams scored 15 points during the third quarter, then MCC closed out the game with a 20-12 fourth quarter margin in scoring.

Iyana Brown paced the Jayhawks with 25 points and seven rebounds. Tierra Williams chipped in with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Yasmine Colon added 15 points and eight rebounds. 

The Jayhawks improved to 20-3 overall and 12-2 in conference play.
