Spring Lake boys basketball squad’s strong second half leads to win over GR West Catholic

The Spring Lake boys basketball team earned an O-K Blue Conference win over Grand Rapids West Catholic 62-57 on Tuesday.

The Lakers trailed 14-13 after the first quarter but outscored West Catholic during the second quarter to force a 28-28 halftime tie.

Spring Lake led 44-42 heading into the fourth quarter.

Lucas Lyyski led the Lakers with 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Sam Sheridan added 15 points and Zach Keyser chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Spring Lake improved to 9-8 overall and is 5-5 in conference play.
