Strong third quarter helps Muskegon Community College women improve to 16-3 overall

The Muskegon Community College womens basketball team defeated Mid Michigan 69-59 on Saturday in a road contest.

After one quarter, Muskegon trailed 19-17 before taking a 30-28 halftime lead behind a strong second quarter.

In the third quarter, Muskegon extended its lead to 53-43.

Iyana Brown led Muskegon with 23 points and nine rebounds while Tierra Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds. Julia Tierman added 12 points for the Jayhawks.

Muskegon is now 16-3 overall and 8-2 in conference play, they’ll next host Lansing on Wednesday night.
