A trio of double-digit scorers helped the Muskegon Community College women take down Lansing Community College 72-53 on Wednesday night.

At the end of the first quarter, Muskegon held a 17-13 lead before extending the lead to 37-29 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Muskegon defense held tight, surrendering just 11 points and extending the Jayhawk lead to 56-40.

Kacy Jeffries led the Jayhawks with 16 points while Yasmine Colon and Iyana Brown each had 15 points.

The Jayhawks are now 17-3 overall and 9-2 in conference play. They’ll next travel to Ancilla Community College on Saturday.
