The Muskegon Big Reds advanced to the Division 1 district finals after beating Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills 55-44 on Wednesday at Grand Haven High School.

The Big Reds outscored Kenowa Hills 10-4 in the first quarter and 19-8 in the second to give them a 29-12 advantage at halftime.

The Knights cut the deficit to 39-27 heading into the final quarter.

Jarvis Walker paced the Big Reds with 15 points while Vern Nash chipped in with 12.

The Big Reds are now 20-2 overall on the season and will face host Grand Haven on Friday in the district finals at 7:00 p.m.
