The Western Michigan Christian girls basketball team advanced to the Division 3 district finals after defeating North Muskegon 58-36 on Wednesday.
The Warriors started fast, outscoring the Norseman 15-8 in the first quarter. The second quarter was a stalemate with both teams scoring 10 points, pushing the score to 25-18 at halftime in favor of WMC.
WMC jumped on the Norse after the break outscoring them 14-6 in the third quarter, making the score 39-24 after three quarters.
Taylor Folkema’s double-double of 23 points and 10 steals paced the Warriors, while Kyla Wiersema also finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
The Norse were led by Chandler Falkowski with 10 points, while Jaala Duncan finished with eight.
North Muskegon finished the season 6-15 overall record.
The Warriors improved to 16-6, and advanced to host Saugatuck in the district finals on Friday.
