The Mona Shores tennis team continued to show off the skills of its top singles players in two events late last week.

On Friday, the Sailors lost a dual match to Rockford 6-2. Their No. 1 singles player, Drew Hackney, and No. 2 singles player, Kayden Hellman, both won their matches.

On Saturday Mona Shores tied for third place at the Holland Christian Invitational. Grand Rapids Christian won with 17 points, Holland Christian was second with 14, and Mona Shores and Haslett each had nine points.

Hackney, Hellman and the Sailors’ No. 3 doubles team of Lydia Sowles and Sam Uptigrove each posted 2-1 records in the tournament.
