It’s sometimes better for a team to have a solid lineup from top to bottom, instead of one or two big stars.

The Mona Shores girls golf team demonstrated that on Wednesday.

Two Zeeland East golfers had the best days at the O-K Green Conference meet hosted by Holland at Clearbrook Country Club. Bailey Bravata and Carly Lukins each shot a 42 to tie for first place in the individual standings.

But Mona Shores placed four golfers in the top 10 and walked away with the team championship, nipping Zeeland East by three points.

The Sailors finished with 191 points, followed by Zeeland East (194), Zeeland West (208), Reeths-Puffer (212), Holland (257) and Grand Rapids Union (1129).

Lily Miller had the best day for Mona Shores, finishing third overall with a 46. Olivia Kasher came in sixth with a 47, Dezmin Merwin was seventh with a 48, Riley Trygstad was ninth with a 50, and Elise Houle and Taylor Quick tied for14th with a 56.
