The Montague golf team showed the overall strength of its lineup on Wednesday by winning the Whitehall Invitational at White Lake Golf Course.

In the individual standings, Whitehall’s Karlie VanDuinen won by an easy margin.

Montague finished with 370 team points, followed by Whitehall (384), Big Rapids A team (386), Ludington (427), North Muskegon (428), Montague B team (439), Sparta (460), Western Michigan Christian (479) and Big Rapids B team (547).

Orianna Bylsma led Montague with a round of 88, which put her third in the individual standings. Megan Brown shot a 90 and finished fourth. Rounding out the Wildcat scorers were Mackenzie Goudreau and Natalie Kellogg (96), Gabriella Moreau (98), and Katie Unger (100).

In the individual competition, VanDuinen ran away from the field with a score of 77. North Muskegon’s Georgette Kersman was second with a 97, Whitehall’s Kenedy Woodring was fifth with a 92, Ludington’s Emma McKinley was seventh with a 93, Ludington’s Charlee Nelson was ninth with a 94 and Whitehall’s Katie Ferris was tenth with a 95.
