The North Muskegon tennis team turned in a strong performance against some good competition on Friday at the Portland Invitational.

The Norse finished in third place with 11 points. Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett ran away with first place with 24 points, while host Portland edged out the Norse for second with 12 points.

North Muskegon had three singles players take second in their respective flights – Brennen McManus (No. 1 singles), Troy McManus (No. 3 singles) and Charlie Branch (No. 4 singles).

The team of Shamus Corbett and Gavin Grimm took second at No. 3 doubles.
