Max Remondino of Oakridge and Gabriella Wingard of North Muskegon were individual champions in the small-school Eagle Division at Monday’s Trojan/Eagle Invitational cross country meet at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.

In the boys race, Remondino turned in a time of 19:47.07, outdistancing second-place Luke Smith of Manistee, who came in at 19:52.74.

Other local runners who finished in the top 10 were Jake Meldrum-Roy of North Muskegon (third place), Graham Resterhouse of Holton (fourth place), Ethan Cammenga of Fruitport Calvary Christian (fifth place), Stephen Priese of Hesperia (eighth place) and Ben Skujins of North Muskegon (tenth place).

Manistee won the team competition with 20 points, followed by Oakridge (50) and Ravenna (64). Other schools did not have enough runners to compete for the team title.

Wingard won the girls race with a time of 22:39.98. She beat out Olivia Holtgren of Manistee, who finished second with a time of 23:10.39. Other local runners who finished in the top 10 were Becci Castillo of Hesperia (fourth place), Kayla Hamilton of Fruitport Calvary (fifth place), Tatum Dykstra of Fruitport Calvary (seventh place) and Lily Crowell of Holton (tenth place).

Manistee took first place as a team with 1`5 points, followed by Holton (48) and Ravenna (70).
