The Grand Haven volleyball team made a special trip up north for the last time on Friday, going to Cadillac to compete due to the soon-to-expire ban on competition in the southern Lower Peninsula.

The Bucs defeated Garber-Essexville 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 and Fruitport 25-10, 25-14, 25-12 before falling to Cadillac 17-25, 25-27, 25-20.

Ashlyn Pahl had 20 kills for Grand Haven on the day while Kam Burbridge added 19. Hallie Rittel served seven aces and Samantha Boeve totaled six. Boeve had 75 assists while Olivia Lovett had 20.

Defensively, Rittel had 47 digs and Mia Swierbut added 27, Burbridge had six blocks and Tessa Winkleman contributed five.

Grand Haven, now 7-2, will next play at Grand Rapids Christian on Thursday, when volleyball is again legal to play throughout the state of Michigan.
