The Mona Shores tennis team dominated in singles but was swept in doubles, resulting in a 4-4 tie with Zeeland East in O-K Green conference action on Monday.

Winning matches for the Sailors were Drew Hackney (No. 1 singles), Kayden Hellman (No. 2 singles), Jace Brainard (No. 3 singles) and Gavin Kuhn (No. 4 singles). Brainard won his first set 7-6 in a tie-breaker, then fought to a 7-5 win in the second set.

Mona Shores could have won the match with a victory in doubles, and came close in the No. 3 flight, when Brady Whalen and Bobby Wasserman put up a battle before losing 7-6 in the first set and 7-5 in the second.
