The North Muskegon football squad earned its second victory of the season Friday, cruising to a 41-16 win over Hart in West Michigan Conference action.
The Norse are now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play while Mason County Central fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
North Muskegon’s Collin Schotts opened the scoring on a five-yard rushing touchdown to give the Norse a 7-0 advantage.
The Norse added another score in the second quarter on a three-yard run by Denny Belmonte to take a 14-0 lead.
The Pirates got on the board with 7:36 remaining in the second quarter when quarterback Braeden Carskadon tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-8.
North Muskegon responded with two more touchdowns before the end of the second quarter, with quarterback Brendan Pannucci connecting with Amarion Dickerson for a 12-yard touchdown, followed by a five-yard scoring run by Schotts. North Muskegon led 28-8 at halftime.
The Norse padded their lead in the third quarter with a one-yard touchdown run by Pannucci, then capped off their scoring less than two minutes later on a two-yard rushing touchdown by Joe Duplissis.
Hart scored the lone touchdown of the fourth quarter on a 32-yard passing touchdown.
For North Muskegon, Pannucci finished with 111 passing yards and one touchdown, while Belmonte led with 83 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Dickerson added 85 receiving yards and a touchdown reception.
Hart’s Carskadon rushed for 110 yards on 15 carries while also throwing for 83 yards and a touchdown.
