The Reeths-Puffer boys and girls cross country teams both finished in second place at an O-K Green conference race on Thursday at Helmer Park in Holland.

The R-P boys finished with 42 points, trailing first place Zeeland West, which dominated the event with 8 of the top 10 individual runners.

Brett Schlaff was the top R-P runner, taking third with a time of 17:22.08. Klay Grant was fifth (18:01.45), Tate Bradley was 13th (19:21.87), Alex Chipman was 17th (20:00.05) and Ethan Day finished 21st (20:43.56).

The top Muskegon Big Red runners were Anthony Sydnor, who finished 34th (234:50.74) and Maurice Sain, who finished 35th (24:02.97).

In the girls race, Reeths-Puffer finished with 29 points, just one point behind first-place Zeeland West.

R-P’s Kennedy Hynde was second individually with a time of 22:22.40. The other top Rocket runners were Bella Hoffer (third place, 22:24:09), Eva Shinebery (fourth place, 22:30.39), Audrey Darling (fifth place, 22:36.41) and Kylie Raynor (sixth place, 23:11.45).

The top Muskegon runners were Kailyn Nash (28th place, 30:47.29) and Aniyah Ford (31:41.09).
