The Ludington soccer team shut out Western Michigan Christian 2-0 on Tuesday in a showdown between Lakes 8 conference powers.
Ludington is now 4-1 in the conference standings. WMC fell to 5-1.
Colby Peplinski and Nick Patterson netted the goals for Ludington while Bruce Thompson had an assist.
Goalkeeper Tim Marrison stopped six shots and recorded the shutout. WMC keeper Joey Eastway made seven saves.
Ludington is 7-3-2 overall while WMC is 5-3-1.
WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE
NORTH MUSKEGON 6, HART 1 – The Norsemen jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead and did not look back. Dylan Schultz led the way, scoring three goals and one assist. Maverick Mylenek chipped in with two goals and Ben Hoffer added one.
Hudson Richards contributed with two assists and Hunter Koekkoek and Tyler Lindell each had one. Leighton Hunt earned a clean sheet in goal with eight saves.
Guermo Ortega scored the lone goal for Hart.
North Muskegon improved to 5-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
CSAA
FREMONT 8, REED CITY 0 – The Packers scored early and often to end the game at halftime against host Reed City.
Carson Herman and Grant Vissia both scored two goals while Lane Converse, David Wachter, Conner Roesler, and Jordon McDonald all scored one apiece.
Fremont outshot Reed City 19-1. Goalie Grant Vissia earned the clean sheet for the Packers with one save.
Fremont moves to 9-1-1 overall and 9-0 in the CSAA Gold.
ALLIANCE LEAGUE
FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN, 3 TRI UNITY 3 – Ethan Pollock’s goal and two assists helped Fruitport Calvary salvage the draw.
Tri Unity had a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Eagles opened their score sheet in the second half on a goal from Ethan Pollock, assisted by Ben Pollock. Braden Swanson tied the game with a goal off from an Ethan Pollock cross.
Later in the game Sam Zelenka scored to give Calvary a 3-2 lead. Tri Unity scored late to tie the game.
The Eagles are now 6-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
O-K BLUE
HAMILTON 1, FRUITPORT 0 – The Trojans fell to to the Hawkeyes in a tight matchup.
The Hawkeyes scored midway through the first half, and despite several opportunities, the Trojans were unable to score the equalizer.
Justin Laus made two saves in net for the Fruitport
Fruitport fell to 3-3-3 on the season.
