The Reeths-Puffer soccer team broke into the victory column on Tuesday with an 8-0 victory over Muskegon in an O-K Green conference tilt.

The first goal didn’t come until there was 6:35 remaining in the first half, but Ashton Carpenter’s tally opened the floodgates for the Rockets.

The second half started much quicker, with Aidan McHugh bagging two quick-fire goals within the first seven minutes. Darren Patterson followed up two minutes later with a goal to make it 4-0. Carpenter found himself on the scoresheet once again when he scored his second and Reeths-Puffer’s fifth.

The game was closed out with the last three goals coming from Isaac Ritsema, Daniel Goodell and Patterson.

Liam Smith three assists for the Rocket, who  peppered Muskegon’s goal with 26 shots.

Reeths-Puffer is now 1-2-1 overall and 1-2 in conference. Muskegon droped to 0-4 overall.

O-K GREEN

HOLLAND 6, MONA SHORES 1 – The Sailors suffered  their first loss of the season in O-K Green conference action.

Gavin Cheatum scored the lone goal for the Sailors, and Hayden Yaros tallied an assist. 

The Sailors fall to 3-1 overall, and 3-1 in conference.

FREMONT 8, KENT CITY 0 – David Wachter’s hat trick led the Packers to a victory Tuesday night.

The Packers outshot the Eagles 22-0.

Grant Vissia netted two goals while Tee Ward, Logan Nelson and Carson Herman all added single tallies for Fremont. Marcus Klimek dished out two assists, while Herman and Lane Converse added an assist each.  

Kent City keeper Pedro Diaz made 14 saves in the loss.

The Packers improved to 3-0 overall, The Eagles fell to 1-3.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERNCE

WHITEHALL 8, HART 0 – The Vikings kicked off their conference season with the easy victory on Monday.

Yahir Gongalez and Bailey Toranko each had three goals while Jack Houtteman and Dylan Osborn each added one. Isaac Tenbrink had three assists, Houtteman added two, and Yahir and Matthew Goodrich each had one. 

Sam Stevens had one save in goal as the Whitehall defense shut down the Pirates. Whitehall is now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
