The Montague volleyball team continued its hot start to the season going 3-0 on Saturday to improve to 12-1 on the season.

The Wildcats beat Zion in straight sets, 25-20, 25-18 and 25-14, took two out of three against Calvin Christian, 25-15, 15-25, 25-15, and swept Covenant Christian 25-19, 25-11, 25-20. 

Reilly Murphy led the team with 33 kills and six aces on the day while adding 22 digs. Morgan Netcott had a team-high 45 digs. Ally Hall added 28 kills and 24 digs, while Taylor Netcott had 27 digs.

Reeths-Puffer 0-3 in West Ottawa quad — The Rockets dropped three matches during a quad at West Ottawa. The Rockets lost three sets to West Ottawa (24-26, 16-25 and 14-24), went 1-2 against Wayland (12-25, 25-19, 18-25), and lost in straight sets to Allendale (15-25, 20-25, 18-25).

Brianna Stawski led the Rockets with 30 digs, 29 kills and seven blocks. Leah Ellis totaled 21 digs, 11 kills and two aces, Allie Moore had 14 digs and a team-leading nine aces and Tessa Lamphere chipped in 19 digs. 

The Rockets are now 2-4 overall. 

Hart splits at Onekama Tri — The Pirates topped Buckley (25-23, 25-16, 26-27) and lost to Onekama (26-27, 11-25, 25-22). 

Avery Beachum had an all-around day with 13 digs, 11 kills and 10 aces. Ariana Borrego led Hart with 24 digs, Audrey Aerts had 23 digs and Cassidy Copenhaver had 20 digs and 10 kills. 

The Pirates improved to 4-3 on the season. 

Grand Haven goes 0-3 against high-ranked competition in quad — The Buccaneers faced three top five teams in Lake Orion Saturday. Grand Haven lost to No. 5 Lake Orion in five sets (22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 16-25, 12-15), lost in four sets to No. 2 Lowell (27-25, 15-25, 24-26, 19-25) and lost to No. 1 Mercy in straight sets (19-25, 11-25, 16-25). 

Mackenzie Gross led with 42 kills and 24 digs, Hallie Rittel totaled 47 digs and Tessa Winkleman added 21 kills and 12 digs. 

Hesperia goes 1-2 in quad — The Panthers lost to Cadillac in straight sets (18-25, 19-25, 25-27), beat Fremont (28-26, 25-15, 22-25) and fell to West Catholic (18-25, 17-25, 12-25).

Emily Bayle led with 24 kills, while Rachel Romero and Rylee Gleason had 16 each. Bayle also led in digs with 43, while Romero had 23 and Sierra Cechura had 14.
